One of the greatest weaknesses of the Trump Administration is that it will claim one thing publicly and then quietly do a very different thing. For instance,
- It will very loudly proclaim that it is work hard on behalf of those Americans who are getting a raw deal from faceless corporations and then,
- Rather more quietly, gut the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
This works reasonably well for them as long as Trump voters only hear them talking a good game and don’t ever find out what they’re actually doing.
Similarly, the Trump Administration hypes itself as a ultra-competent Administration but then proceeds to shoot itself – and us! – in the foot. Repeatedly.
It’s on us, then, to not only educate Trump voters on what the Trump Administration is actually doing but to also supply them with the references that they can use to check these things out for themselves. Over time, they will come to appreciate the vast difference between what the Trump Administration says it does and what it actually does. Once that understanding is in place, they will either stay home for the next election or, still better, switch their vote to our side!
